Task Force 1-28 Infantry: The Last Permanent Light Infantry "Task Force"

Task Force 1-28 Infantry was a light infantry battalion task force from 2015 to 2020 under the 3rd Infantry Division. When it existed 1-28 IN was the only “organic” light infantry task force in the army. U.S. Army Honest John Nuclear Missile Battery of 1960

Honest John was a nuclear-capable unguided rocket. In Infantry and Armored Divisions ans EAD Honest John Battalions it was mounted on the M139, the heavy-duty version of the 5-ton 6x6. In this Depth Section video I talk about the U.S. Marine Corps short-lived J-series Marine Division that was used from 1947 to 1949. It was an unorthodox organization resulting from the shrinking of the corps post-WW2 and was the first purpose-built peacetime Marine Division (except for the H-series of 1946 that didn't change much). Instead of being based on 2 Infantry Regiments manned at cadre levels (about 50% manning) which would be expandable to 3 Infantry Regiments durin
