U.S. Army Special Forces Company (1970)

The following was the organization of the Special Forces Company of the U.S. Army Special Forces "Green Berets" effective as of 1970. The Green Berets are a branch specializing in unconventional warfare, foreign internal defense, direct action, and other duties above the pay grade of standard infantry. Special forces would often be tasked with training foreign militaries, and their company structure at this time more resembled a compact battalion in supporting staff. This would have been the organization for the later stages of the Vietnam War up until post-war.

This is based on Table of Organization & Equipment 31-107H, republished by War Establishments (linked in the sources area). The next level up was the Special Forces Battalion, which consisted of 3 Special Forces Companies and 1 HQ & HQ Det. After that, the highest level was and is the Special Forces Group.
