Check out our new article on the US Army Infantry Cannon Company from July 1943 to June 1945. These were towed 105mm howitzer batteries integral to Infantry Regiments that provided the regiments with organic indirect fire capability. They mainly used the M3 howitzer, which was a shorter, lighter version of the standard M2A2 howitzer used by regular Field Artillery units.
